Civil Aircraft Alternative Fuel First Test Flight-GTL Fuel-Airbus

Powered by Rolls Royce Trent 900 engines, an Airbus A380 aircraft has completed the world’s first flight by a commercial aircraft only using an alternative fuel, (Gas to Liquids - GTL) liquid fuel processed from gas.
Shell GTL Jet Fuel was provided by Shell International Petroleum and used in a A380, most fuel efficient airliner.
Airbus is waiting for second generation bio-fuels to start studying them, as soon as they become available.
Airbus keeps evaluating viable and sustainable alternative fuels, GTL is expected to be available at certain locations as a alternative fuel for commercial aviation in the short term.
GTL (Gas to Liquids) as alternative fuel has major improvements in local air quality, it also shows benefits in terms of aircraft fuel burn.
GTL (Gas to Liquids) it is virtually free of sulphur and can be made from
natural gas or organic plant matter from a process called Fischer-Tropsch.
